Work under a trained lead, including an experienced Lead Carpenter on carpentry projects, support approved exterior projects across our services and develop practical jobsite skills. Bring dependability, respect and a willingness to learn. Building experience is welcome, not required.

We are accepting applications for local exterior project support. Part time or full time arrangements depend on the assignment. Pay, schedule, equipment and start date are confirmed in the offer letter.

What you will do

  • Help the trained lead prepare the site, stage materials and complete assigned exterior project tasks under direction. Use only equipment and methods you have been trained and authorized to use.
  • Read the job instructions and learn our written standards. Ask when a measurement, instruction or condition is unclear.
  • Protect the customer's property and keep the site safe and orderly throughout the workday.
  • Assist with JobTread photos, quantities, progress records and the closeout checklist. Record actual project time.
  • Report unsafe conditions or proposed changes before affected work proceeds. Send customer price, scope and schedule questions to the Project Coordinator.
  • Use assigned time between builds for paid preparation, training and tool care. Pass new project inquiries to our team.

What we are looking for

  • Reliable transportation, punctuality and dependable follow through.
  • Honesty, respect for customers and coworkers, and a willingness to accept clear feedback.
  • Interest in learning practical exterior project work and following the written standard. Prior building or outdoor work is helpful, not required.
  • Your own basic hand tools and work boots.
  • Willingness to use JobTread on a phone for photos and checklists. We provide system training.

Requirements

  • 18 or older, with reliable transportation to the job.
  • Able to lift and carry 50 lb repeatedly, and to stand, bend, kneel, dig and climb ladders through a full workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to work outdoors in Gulf Coast heat, sun and humidity.
  • Able to run power tools safely and wear the protective gear each job calls for.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Development depends on demonstrated capability, responsibility and available positions. It is not automatic with time served.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Hours over 40 in a workweek are paid at time and a half.
